Annisa is the lab technician who works on axon initial segment plasticity in dopaminergic neurons in the rat and mouse olfactory bulb.
Before joining the Grubb lab Annisa undertook her PhD in the Endocrine
Signalling Group at the Royal
Veterinary College in London under the supervision of Dr. Rob Fowkes and
Dr. Imelda McGonnell. She was
investigating the role of C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) and
calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) signalling in zebrafish
hypothalamus and pituitary development.
Prior to this she studied Veterinary Sciences at the Royal
Veterinary College. During her degree
she was awarded two summer studentships; the first investigating modulators of
the enzyme 11beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11beta-HSD) in porcine seminal plasma and
the second investigating the transcriptional regulation of the guanylyl
cyclase-B receptor (GC-B) in the pituitary.
Sadly, Annisa is not a Swindon Town or Northwich Victoria fan.
Annisa gets serious about science at ENDO 2010, San Diego
