We are huge advocates of Open Science here at the Grubb Lab, and even won a prize for it in 2022! Our policy is that everything we do should be openly available to anyone who’s interested.
For publications, that means that we deposit all submitted manuscripts as preprints in bioRxiv, and that we publish our peer-reviewed papers in journals where Open Access is immediate, even if it’s only for the ‘approved manuscript’ version. For data, that means that we deposit all (yes, all) of the raw data that have contributed to any published paper, and we make those data freely available to all users. See our publications list for recent examples of this.
We don’t develop too many novel resources as part of our work, but when we do we make these freely available too. You can find our plasmids in Addgene. Our custom Matlab code is in a few places: either in Matlab Central or here, or you’ll find scripts as part of our deposited datasets as well.
And if you’d like to know about anything we’ve done or we’re currently doing, please just get in touch – we’ll be open and honest, because that’s what we do.
